Evaluating and Improving KKU Academic Services

       The Academic Services Center held its project heads meeting on October 10 to review academic services work for communities for this fiscal year’s budget.

       The‘Strategy of Research Conduction and Technology Transfers’ meeting focused on following up and evaluating the varsity’s current social services, chiefly on its criteria on payments before implementing projects next year.

       Prof. Dr. Suthiphan Jitphimolmas, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer Affairs led the Opening ceremony held at the Phimol Kolchit Building where project heads, coordinators,finance officers of all faculties and working agencies,administrators and personnel of about 170 people attended. Prof. Dr. Suthiphan said providing excellent academicservice is main mission of this Center, which has been assigned this service work by the KKU for a long time. “To give academic services to the society, you will benefit from first learning more about communities, knowing and understanding their real situations and problems before you decide onyour research titles and development work topics to integrate with the Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degree curricula.”

       “At the same time that we are serving society, we can learn more about the people and the exact benefits we stand to gain from helping others. However, our main objective is about developing our country; we are happy and proud simply working for the people in the Isaan region.”

       Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amnouy Kamtuo, Director of UNISERV. KKU., then followed with a lecture about the meeting theme. He told attendees that the Center was now rated at the 5-point level in contrast to its 3 points in 2007, thanks to the successful projects by all parties concerned. He gave another talk on the Center’s mission that is clearly divided into 3 features, namely,

  1. Bringing benefits to members of the general public; Functioning as a non-profit center when working onsome projects, and
  2. Generating incomes from some academic services projects.

       The Center has also been assigned by KKU to implement Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR with other organizations. Lastly, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amnuay asked for cooperation from project heads to give their best for the sake and image of theKKU in terms of academic services while working efficiently according to the operational plan, financial plan as well as working manual and reports.

        He also encouraged them to contribute many more interesting articles to the Center’s journal to make KKU better known in the academic world.
