Captivating Scientific Caravan Fair 2012

       The Academic Services Center and the National Science Museum jointly held a Science Mobile Fair and many interesting activities this year featuring a scientific exhibition, laboratory, displays, a fun Water Rocket contest, and many more.

       On November 13, KKU Vice President Prof. Dr. Suthiphan Jitphimolmas, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Theera Rithirod, Deputy Director of Strategic Drives Division, administrators and personnel of the Center, were on hand to welcome Dr. Phichai Sonjaeng, the Director of the Nationally Science Museum, Deputy Director Mr. Sakorn Chanapaitoon as well as the team members of the Science Caravan, to the Science Fair and Water Rocket contest organized on the KKU campus from November 13-16, 2012.

       Prof. Dr. Suthiphan gave the welcoming remarks to the above representatives, other guests, the media, teachers and students who attended the event.

       Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Theera Rithirod of the Strategic Drives Division, KKU, said that this is the third year the Caravan Fair or Mobile Science activity has been organized for KKU and the public.

       Dr. Phichai from the National Science Museum mentioned that the Museum, under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology, performs the critical role of widely spreading science and technology knowledge to members of the public of all ages and educational levels. The institute helps people to realize the importance of science and technology in solving problems in daily life. In addition, it conducts searches about science communication and biodiversities by networking with science museums nationwide.

       He added that the Science Caravan features many interesting mobile activities. Launched in 2007 by the National Science Museum, it provides opportunities for both students and the public in the regions nationwide to get in touch with, and to learn about science with fun and games, exhibitions and demonstrations.

       This year’s fair will be conducted in 11 locations countrywide starting first with KKU. From November 13-16, there will be a fascinating science exhibition and show at the old Royal Degree Presentation Pavilion and on the 5th floor of Phimol Kolkitch Building.
