KKU and Khon Kaen organize activities to support civil servants

       KKU and Khon Kaen warmly welcomed the civil servants from the southern border provinces and organized activities to create a network and to study art and culture and the ways of life in Isan.

       Asst. Prof. Likhit Amataykong, Vice President of Khon Kaen University in cooperation with Mrs. Arawan Nuyphakdee, Advisor to the Ambassador for Education in the United Kingdom, presided over the opening ceremony of training under the Capacity and Quality of Life Development for Civil Servants in the Southern Border Provinces project batch 4/2014. It is the 15th time the Office of the Civil Servants Committee holds the project on the 4th of March 2014 at the Sri Chan room of Charoen Thani Hotel, Khon Kaen. There were 93 participants; 35 from Narathiwat, 23 from Yala, 3 from Songkhla and 29 from Pattani. Mr, Niran Hayimasamae, Chairman of the Islamic Committee of Khon Kaen, Congregation Affairs welcomed the participants of the training.

       Assoc.Prof. Dr. Amnouy Kamtuo, Director of the Center for Academic Services and Chairman of the Organizing Committee presented the training and said: “The Capacity and Quality of Life Development for Civil Servants in the Southern Border Provinces project has the goal to 1) Relax and get away from the work in a pressing situation and dangerous environment, 2) to offer knowledge and skills needed for civil servant work in the southern border provinces, 3) to gain knowledge and training related to health as well as methods to alleviate stress from working and living a happy life, 4) to promote relations between civil servants.

       The training included lectures to build relationships and to relax, study trips to learn about arts and culture of Khon Kaen, a visit to the sufficiency economy village, in Ubor Rat district, Khon Kaen, the Nasa village in Muang district Udon Thani, to learn about the ways of life, the economic situation of society in Nong Khai, the 7th most livable city in the world, a boat trip over the Mekong river, a trip to see the economic situation of the Thai-Laos border, health examinations by the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences and a study of the tourism sector of Khon Kaen.”

       Mrs. Arawan Nuyphakdee, Advisor to the Ambassador for Education in the United Kingdom said in her opening speech: “It is obvious that attendees brought presents from the previous batches of attendees. Yesterday there was a massive welcome by the training team as if it was a wedding. We hope you will gain knowledge and experience from the project and take this back to the colleagues in the southern border provinces. We hope you are happy, receive convenient services and have a good health. We hope you are reassured to do the work of civil servants in for our population and nation.”

       Asst. Prof. Likhit Amataykong, Vice President of Khon Kaen University, of the Student Development and Alumni Relations Division said in his opening speech: “Thank you, the OCSC, for your trust in Khon Kaen and to let us be part of this project. We believe the team of the Center of Academic Services will take good care of you and that you will be astonished in the next 6 days. Although the period is only short, the team of KKU will take good care of you. In name of Khon Kaen University, welcome, and thank you for choosing Khon Kaen and giving us the chance to welcome you. Thank you OSCS for the trust us, one of the 3 universities to carry out the project in 2014. Thanks to the team and invited guests for welcoming the civil servants from the South.”

       Mr. Abdulwarit Toyusol, Nurse of the Narathiwat Hospital, participant of the training from Narathiwat said: “I once visited Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen, but I wanted to come to Khon Kaen the most because it was the most impressive. Khon Kaen has many tourist attractions, everyone is nice. One thing I hope to get from the training is friends and doing joint activities with people we work with. We can relax and alleviate stress, brainstorm and we hope the lecturers and team of KKU will do their best as they did before.

       Nertya Wimon, teacher from the Lamong village in Betong district said: “In name of civil servants, from the southern provinces, thank you and we hope the team will do their best as they did in past times. We hope to gain good experiences and relax to alleviate stress from work. We hope to exchange culture.”
