The Office of Academic Services, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the School for Leadership and Peace, Raksakul School, organized the training program on Medical Dispute Mediation, 2nd Edition.

The Office of Academic Services, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the School for Leadership and Peace, Raksakul School, organized the training program on Medical Dispute Mediation, 2nd Edition, held from June 19 - 21, 2566, at the SD Avenue Hotel in Bangkok.
The objective of the program was to provide medical professionals with an understanding of the principles of medical dispute mediation and to train in various techniques in the mediation for disputes. The program was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Wanchai Chairman of the University council of Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University, an independent scholar and Chairman of the Khon Kaen University International Education School, Assoc. Prof. Suchinun Horrasit, the executive of the School for Leadership and Peace, Raksakul School, Khon Kaen, and guest speakers including Assoc. Prof. Orasa Naraiyanakamin, advisor to the Center for Mediation, Ministry of Public Health, and Assoc. Prof. Sudaporn Khamthet,

A specialist nurse from the Department of Public Health and Environment, Tha Rua Phra Thaen Municipality, Kanchanaburi Province. There were 46 participants from 17 provinces attending a training program, with the highest number coming from Prachinburi Province, totaling 7 participants, followed by Ratchaburi with 6 participants, and the lowest number of participants from Lampang, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Amnat Charoen, and Kanchanaburi, with 1 participant each.

The training programs included:
-Basic Guidelines: The roles of stakeholders in the organization and communication between them in addressing issues and how to overcome differences of opinion.
-Empathy and Sympathy: Communication skills to build relationships and bridge differences.
-Compassionate Communication to foster love, understanding, and inspiration in dialogue. Nature of Conflict in the context of public health/medical field, personal charisma.
-Nature of Conflict, problems, seeking points of interest, and the impact of conflicts.
-Conflict and sustainable systematic problem-solving leading to sustainable reconciliation.
-Effective Apology Principles for restoring relationships. Them, Us, Culture, and the transition to desired culture.
-The process of finding sustainable solutions to problems leading to sustainable reconciliation.
-Development of Appreciative Inquiry Tools: AI/Win-Win problem-solving process aiming for desired goals.
-Participative Decision-Making in Organization (PDM) "I respect your opinion."

Professor Dr. Wanchai Wattanasap, the executive of Raksakul School, mentioned in his opening remarks in the title of “From the nationwide conflicts that occurred in 1992, decisions were made without mediation. Therefore, we recognize the importance of promoting and researching the process of mediation and conflict resolution. As a result, we sought funding from CIDA to send our personnel for training on mediation in Canada in 1992."

Dr. Thanongsak Kongthong, from Ratchaburi Hospital, expressed his expectations for participating in this training course, "I have been a victim of disputes before, so the hospital director appointed me as a mediator. I hope to gain knowledge of the principles and various techniques used in mediation different disputes, as there has been an increasing trend of conflicts in the hospital."
