The Office of Academic Services at Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the School of Leadership Development and Peace Building (Rak school), organized an upskilling course on "Negotiation Skills Enhancement according to the Dispute Settlement Act B.E. 2562" during July 10-14, 2566. The training program took place at the Charoen Thani Hotel, Khon Kaen.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamonlert, Director of the Academic Services Office, Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening of the training program on "Mediation of Disputes according to the Mediation Act, B.E. 2562." On this occasion, Dr. Wanchai Wattanasap, President of Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University Council and former President of Khon Kaen University, welcomed the participants. Dr. Wanchai Wattanasap mentioned the implementation of the training program by Khon Kaen University, which has obtained permission from the National Committee on the Development of Alternative Dispute Resolution or NCDADR. The learning process includes lectures, to practice situations, and site visits to relevant organizations in order to enhance understanding, reduce conflicts, and develop the skills and abilities of the trainees for practical application. Participants who successfully complete the training can register as mediators according to the relevant laws. The course is conducted by qualified instructors, including Dr. Wanchai Wattanasap, President of Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University Council, and administrators of the School for Developing Leaders and Creating Justice (Rak School),

Prof. Pai rote Minden, Judge of the Supreme Administrative Court, and Prof. Adul Khantong, Chairman of the Environmental Case Division in the Administrative Court Region 2nd, and Dr. Tapaphak Buranasing, Director of the Conflict Resolution Promotion Division, and Assoc. Prof. Sujinun Horasit, Deputy Director of the School for Developing Leaders and Creating Justice (Rak School).

The training program, titled "Negotiation Skills Enhancement according to the Dispute Settlement Act B.E. 2562," aimed to upskill and reskill participants in order to enhance their working skills, build networks with public sector organizations, and support the development of accurate work processes. The program covered important knowledge areas such as the Dispute Settlement Act, psychological aspects of negotiation, the nature of conflicts, ethical considerations in negotiation, success factors, effective apologies, and relevant laws. Participants also had the opportunity to study and observe actual negotiations at the provincial court in Khon Kaen. A total of 23 participants attended this training program.

This training program is considered as contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.
